My Collection

Some women collect shoes, some collect handbags, well I collect body washes!

This is actually quite a small collection for me because I've been trying to reign it in a bit and use up most of what I already have.  I've been a very good Mummy V by avoiding the body wash section whenever I go to the shops because if I see any that I haven't tried before, or any in pretty packaging, then I will simply have to buy them.  I love trying new fragrances, particularly ones that are fruity or sweet like chocolate or vanilla.

I have a few Dove body washes in the above photo, this is because I love how well they lather - they create a really soft, creamy lather that leaves my skin feeling thoroughly moisturised.  The only downside to the Dove body washes is that some of them smell a little too soapy for my liking.  I prefer to smell more of the fragrance when I'm washing and on my skin afterwards.

As I mentioned above, pretty packaging is also an attraction for me - I love the simple, fresh Nivea bottles but I also like the quirky shape of the Palmolive bottles. In the past I've had beautiful glass bottles which look great as a bathroom decoration (until they're half empty that is).

I don't buy them all myself, my family say that there are four things that are a guaranteed hit for me on birthdays/Christmas etc: body washes, candles, bath bombs and chocolate! And I have to admit that they're completely right, although to be honest I actually love all toiletries so I like to think I'm easy to buy for (and not too expensive either).

Do you have a collection of toiletries? Or do you have a collection of a different kind? I'd love to hear about it so please leave a comment.

  1. I seem to inadvertently collect hand creams Kate! I have two on my desk at work and loads more in the drawers. I bought a pretty box to keep them all in at home. I tend to buy if they are in pretty containers (I have a gorgeous owl from WHSmith) but the rest have been given to me.

Wonder what that says about me? hahaha

    Have a fab weekend.

    1. Isn't it amazing how a pretty container can make a product irresistible! Great idea to get a pretty box to put them in - any excuse to shop for pretty things 😉.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting Shaz, have a lovely weekend x

  2. Ha ha! This made me laugh a bit, at least it is cheaper than handbags! I now want to try them all! x

    1. Exactly! Whenever hubby complains about how many I have I remind him that it could be a lot worse.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. x

  3. haha great collection! I'm definitely a skincare hoarder x

    1. Toiletries are so easy to hoard aren't they, they just seem to jump out at you whenever you're shopping ;)

      Thank you for commenting!
