Baby Talk

I thought our days of baby talk were well and truly over, that was until E came into our lives and reminded me of this fun part of the world of babies!

You know exactly what I'm talking about - even those of you who don't have children have probably, at one time or another, given in to the tempting practice of talking gobbledygook to a little one.

So I've compiled a list of silly words we use to talk to E and their meaning:
  • Bot bot = bottle
  • Num num = dummy
  • Nap nap = nappy
  • Puds = hands
  • Piggies = toes
  • Going tatties = going out for a walk
  • Ta = thank you
  • Dressded = dressed
  • Peggies = teeth
  • Loon = balloon
  • Woo woo = dog
  • Gee gee = horse
  • Poon = spoon
  • Ba ba = baby
  • Oh noses! = oh no!
Moving to the other end of the spectrum, our 11 (soon to be 12) year old has been coming out with words like 'legit' and 'swag', to be honest I find this kind of gobbledygook even stranger than baby talk. I'm familiar with baby talk and somehow understand it, but this is a whole new kettle of fish. I guess by the time E is his age I'll be a pro with that kind of talk too and who knows, you might even see some of these 'cool' words pop up in my future blog posts!

I'd love to hear some of your baby (or cool) words, so please share below.

    1. Hahaha I completely forgot about baby talking to the dog, you're not alone, we do that too! Dogs are like babies, I'm sure most people talk baby to their pets :)
