Enquiring Minds No.4
Once again it's time for my regular feature, Enquiring Minds, a series which celebrates the wonderful workings of my children's minds. You can find all my 'Enquiring Minds' posts here.
Quite often I'm surprised by the questions that T and N ask, sometimes I wonder where they've even heard some of the words they're asking the meaning of. This week has been one of those weeks with questions that come out of nowhere...
- Is Usain Bolt the fastest man in the world?
- What is shingles?
- How did they make the first pick axe?
- Where do seeds come from?
- What's a cheque?
- What does anxiety mean?
- What is a limited company?
- What does patronising mean?
- What's a coma?
Number 4 led to a conversation along the lines of 'Which came first, the chicken or the egg?' - I explained to N that seeds come from the plant and her reply was 'But the plant had to grow from a seed so where did that seed come from?'. She makes a good point and I didn't really have an answer for her so if anyone out there knows the truth, please let us know too! The same goes for the chicken and the egg question, I just can't get my head round that one and would love an answer.
