Mummy V's Blogger Interviews
I have interviewed many authors in my time as a book blogger but here on V Family Fun I'd like to do something a bit different. So now I'm questioning the bloggers.
To start the ball rolling I'm going to interview myself!Kate has two blogs: V Family Fun and Me, My Books and I. She lives in the South of England, her family are her whole world but she is also a blogging addict! She enjoys sharing her opinion on everything from parenting highs and lows to the items herself and her family use each day. She loves trying new things and is an honest person so always speaks the truth.
With her husband she has created 3 lovely children: 'T' an 11 year old boy, 'N' an 8 year old girl and 'E' an 11 month old girl. Also sharing their crazy life is a big drooly dog called Flint and 2 leopard geckos 'Lego' and 'Stripy'. Together they're the V Family!
How did you come up with the title for your blog?
Me, My Books and I came to me one day as I was looking at my bookshelves trying to decide which book to read next, it just popped into my head and I thought 'that would make a great blog name' so I went for it! For V Family Fun, if you haven't already guessed, our surname begins with a V and seeing as fun and games are a big part of our family life I just felt it was right.
What do you hope readers will get out of your blog?
I just hope people will enjoy my blogs as much as I do. I love every part of writing and sharing my thoughts so if my posts can make someone smile then I think its a job well done. A huge compliment for me is when I've shared a book review or product review and someone comments to say that my review has made them want to try it for themselves - how great is that!
Do you follow a plan when you are writing a blog post or do you let the words guide you?
My book blog is mostly about reviewing the books I've read so planning is quite important because by the time you get to the end of a book you can't always remember the little things that are needed to make a book review personal. I make notes as I read and then use those notes to write my review. With V Family Fun I can let the words guide me, I feel completely unrestricted with family blogging and love being able to just write whats on my mind.
What is the one thing you couldn't live without?
My first answer to this will always be my family but if you're talking about objects then it would definitely be my iPad. It's so sad but I feel like I've lost my right arm if I'm away from it for too long! I just like to keep up-to-date with everything from emails to the state of my bank account and my lovely iPad allows me to do that all in one place.
Which of your blog posts is your favourite and why?
Obviously I am proud of all my blog posts and I have quite a few favourites but I think my ultimate favourite has to be my C Sections post. It was extremely difficult to write, I had tears running down my face the whole time I was writing, but it was also therapeutic and left me feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
You can read C Sections - My Story here.
Paperback or eBook?
Paperback because I love the papery smell of a book, especially a brand new one!
Tea or coffee?
Coffee, as a mum I always need coffee.
Heels or flats?
Flats, since having children my heels only come out for special occasions.
Pen or pencil?
Pen, I hate writing with smudgy pencils.
Snow or sun?
This is tricky because I love being warm but I really enjoy snow. I'm the biggest child in our household when it comes to snow - snow angels are a must!
Any last words for your readers?
Thank you to everyone who has supported both of my blogs, I feel honoured that people choose to read what I have to say and it totally makes my day when I get comments, RTs etc. I really do appreciate it.
