Wubble Bubble Ball Review
Have you heard of the Wubble Bubble Ball from Vivid? Have you seen the TV advert? My children certainly have, so when I was given the chance to try one out they were super excited!
When I unpacked the box I was immediately drawn to the deflated ball, it felt very strange to the touch and I couldn't wait to find out what it would feel like when it was inflated. Apparently this strange feeling is because it is made with top-secret super-thermo-stretch-tacular material.
Other than the ball, inside the box was a battery-operated air pump (which took 4 x D batteries), an inflation/deflation tool, a measure so you don't inflate the ball too much and finally an instruction sheet.
We had some trouble getting the nozzle into the ball to inflate it but I think that was just because we were nervous of pushing it too hard and making a hole in the material (I know it's supposed to be pretty tough but to be honest it felt quite delicate).
The instructions said it can be inflated to a gigantic THREE FEET TALL but I was extremely nervous during the inflation because it really looked like it was going to burst.
Obviously it didn't burst and once we got it inflated there were oohs and aahs all round, it actually looks like a giant bubble but can be played with like a ball - what an epic concept!
Since the Wubble arrived in our house we have had so much fun with it both indoors and out. There are just so many games you can play with it. You can bounce it around like a basketball and laugh as it seems to take on a life of it's own...
You can shout into it and listen to the echoey sound - T and N enjoy having conversations through it...
It makes a game of throw and catch far more exciting and piggy in the middle has never been so much fun...
They played with it on the trampoline, tried spinning it on their fingers like a basketball and even got down on the floor so they could spin it in the air with their feet! Playing 'keepy uppy' with the Wubble was a bit more tricky than with a football because it had a habit of flying off in the wrong direction...
Even though the material felt delicate to me, it can take quite a lot. Our ball was certainly put through its paces with lots of rough treatment (and squishing) but the Wubble isn't completely invincible so you do need to be careful around any sharp objects.
This is such a great family toy because it's so much fun and there are so many things you can do with it - the possibilities are endless. My husband and myself were just as mesmerised as the kids were and E had a great time crawl-chasing it around the house, banging the sides and shouting into it.
The Wubble Bubble Ball can be purchased with the air-pump (RRP £19.99) or without the air-pump (RRP £9.99) from all major retailers including Argos, TRU, The Entertainer, Smyths, Tesco and WH Smith. It comes in three different colours - blue, purple (only available without the pump) and pink (only available with the pump).
If you're concerned that the size of the ball might be a bit overwhelming in your house then don't worry because you can easily deflate it using the deflation tool and pop it in a drawer for next time. This would also make travelling with the Wubble easy, you could simply inflate the ball when you got to your destination - how great would it be to take this to the beach!
I would definitely recommend this toy for families with children of all ages, it's fun for everyone including mummy and daddy - it certainly made me feel like a child again.
I'd love to know what you think of the Wubble Bubble Ball...
