A V Family Bank Holiday Walk

Sometimes when funds are a little bit low and the sun is shining we like to go on walks. The area we live in has lots of routes which are suitable for bikes and scooters so we usually get the kids geared up and get outside for some exercise and fresh air.

The recent Bank Holiday was one of those occasions. With her birthday money N had just bought herself this fantastic scooter which you move by wiggling from side-to-side. Seeing as N never stops moving and is always wiggling about, I knew it would be perfect for her.

T decided he didn't want to take his bike this time and chose to walk with me. He ended up pushing E on her SmarTrike most of the way round and he seemed to enjoy that just as much as riding his own bike.

Speaking of the SmarTrike, just how cool are they! It is super easy to push and steer and E's squeals of excitement as we're going along tells me she thinks its great too.

We walked (and scooted and biked) all the way around our estate and we still weren't ready to head home so we decided to walk across the main road to where my parents live.

Scooter

N was quite far ahead most of the time because that scooter moves really fast. She was even doing jumping tricks, spinning it round and riding it whilst squatting.

By the time we all got home after visiting my parents we were worn out but happy - those exercise endorphins are fab!

It doesn't always have to cost the earth to have a good time with your family and sometimes its these little moments that create the best memories.

  1. Those scooters always make me feel exhausted just looking at them Kate hahaha

Agree with you that going out and building memories doesn't have to be about the latest thing/craze or spending lots of money.

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Haha I don't think I'd have the energy for it either Shaz, it's enough just walking round after it!

  2. I love these days out that don't cost much but everyone enjoys. We often take our boys out walking and they love it, most of the time. LP is the one that is always on the go and he loves to run, of course this also means he uses up his energy sooner than the rest of us but he loves it all the same. Great post with some fabulous pics. xx

  4. Oh that scooter looks fun - I've never seen one like that before! I agree that getting out into the fresh air is so worthwhile if you can. Unfortunately the opportunities are getting less now, but we still try to go out most weekends if it's dry.

    1. Finding the time to get out and do things like this isn't always easy is it. Sometimes I think if you do things too often it loses the novelty factor and isn't half as fun so maybe now and then is better!
