BakerDays Letterbox Cake Review And Giveaway

I first discovered BakerDays on Twitter, they create a range of beautiful personalised cakes for every occasion imaginable.

They claim they are 'personalised cake specialists' and after browsing through their website I have to say that I agree with them - the variety is huge! The range of Birthday Cakes is just massive and with options to choose the design, size and recipe you can rest assured that the cake you receive will be just what you want.

Whilst browsing I couldn't help but notice the Cupcake section, these can also be personalised and if you buy a box of twelve you get a two-tier cupcake stand absolutely free! As if I needed any more reasons to buy twelve cupcakes for myself the family.

When I was contacted by BakerDays asking if I would like to review one of their Letterbox Cakes I just couldn't refuse (V Family rule no.1 - never refuse cake). I admit I was slightly concerned that it wouldn't arrive in one piece - our postman is rather hectic and tends to throw our mail about a bit - but just check this out:

Letterbox Cake

The packaging was fantastic! The best thing about this kind of cake is that the recipient doesn't have to be in because it fits through the letterbox. We all know how difficult it can be to arrange a delivery for someone who isn't often home and this solves that problem completely.

Letterbox Cake

The cake is delivered First Class and comes with a little card and a party pack which includes a couple of candles, balloons and even a blower - everything you need for a mini celebration. The little cake tin is gorgeous and makes a great keepsake, I shall definitely be using mine again.

I chose a Father's Day cake but there are many other occasions that you could choose from. You simply go to the website or give them a call (telephone number is on the website), pick your options and personalisation details, then sit back and wait for delivery.

Letterbox Cake

There are six delicious flavours to choose from including gluten-free or dairy-free for those of you who have specific dietary requirements. Ours was vanilla and in N's words tasted 'absolutely amazing'. As soon as we opened the tin we were hit by a beautiful aroma of sweet vanilla, it really did smell divine.

Cutting into the cake revealed a moist-looking sponge cake with no jam, this is super important in our household as neither T or N will eat anything with jam in it.

I'm pleased to say it tasted as good as it looked and smelled. E was particularly taken with it, I turned around to do something and when I looked back, my piece of cake had been stolen off my plate and was being munched on by a very cute little mouth!

BakerDays offer a wonderful service with all the little extras that make a celebration special:
  • They deliver 6 days a week. If you order a week in advance, delivery will be FREE.
  • Their cakes stay fresh for up to fourteen days.
  • You can personalise any of their designs to fit all of their cake sizes.
  • If you can't find a design you like, you can try their bespoke design service. Just give them a call.
  • If you need a corporate cake, they cater for all orders big or small. Call them for a personalised quote.
  • If you order before 2pm, they can deliver next day!
  • All large cakes receive a FREE helium balloon and BakerDays cake slice.

The Letterbox Cake is a brilliant alternative to sending a card, I think anyone would love to receive one of these through the post.
