Mummy V's Blogger Interviews - Ami From My Mummy Spam

For today's interview I am delighted to welcome Ami from My Mummy Spam.

My Mummy Spam

I'm Ami! A 26 year old first time Mummy to Bubba who was born in September 2014 and wife to Hubby since September 2013. We live near the sea in the (sometimes) sunny South East.

I started this blog in April 2015 as I felt I was 'Mummy spamming' my Facebook with too much baby related things so I figured why not get my own little piece of the internet and Mummy spam to my hearts content over there.

I blog about everything baby/mummy related from my personal experiences and stories to reviews and product recommendations. Currently working with Essex Baby as a guest blogger once a month and am also an Official Your Baby Club blogger.

I would love to get to know the people reading my blog so come and say 'HI' and give me a follow!

Hi Ami,

Which kind of post is your favourite to write and why?

I love to write about topics that I think might help someone. When I was pregnant, I found myself googling all sorts of different things from what to pack in my hospital bag to ways to help fall asleep when pregnant and came across a few blogs that made me feel less alone in my (what I thought were) stupid questions. I love writing a post and then hearing that it has helped someone in someway, be that reassurance, making them laugh or helping them understand something. If I can help just one person then it makes it worth it.

What makes your blog stand out from the crowd?

I like to think that I am very honest about things and don't try to 'fluff' things up. For me, pregnancy, labour and parenting is hard..rewarding and amazing but still hard and I like to think that my blog holds no preconceptions about having a baby and says it as it is.

Where is your favourite place to be when you're blogging?

That has to be my kitchen table whilst Bubba is napping. I sit with the monitor one side and a huge mug of coffee the other and my iTunes playlist on the go.

Which of your blog posts is your favourite and why?

This is a hard one as there is a couple of posts I am very proud of but I would have to say it is my post about New life during loss. The post was the hardest one I have had to write and I did have to stop a couple of times as I could barely see what |I was writing through tears but I am so glad I finished and published it. It was not only quite therapeutic for me but I have had some wonderful feedback from others which has made it worth it. You can read the full blog post by clicking on the link below.

If you could live in any time period, which would it be?

I've always loved anything to do with the Tudors. I love the Phillipa Gregory book series (includes 'The other boylen sister) which is all about the Tudors so I would say either that time period or the Victorians as I love that part of history as well. Deep down I am a bit of a history geek at heart!

Morning or night person?

Morning all the way! I love my sleep and love getting an early night. I have only ever laid in past 9am a handful of times and my normal weekend wake up is around 7-8am. I feel like I have wasted the day if I don't get up and get going early.

Laptop, desktop or tablet?

Laptop. I don't own a desktop. I have a tablet and like that for general browsing, apps ect but a good old laptop for blogging and social media.

Sweet or savoury?

Ooooo....this is a hard one. It really depends on what mood I am in...but overall I would say sweet. Hubby calls me a chocolate monster as if there is chocolate in the house you can be sure I will sniff it out.

Any last words for your readers?

I'm not sure if there are many of you out there but if you are then thank you so much for reading and hope you continue to enjoy coming with me on this journey through motherhood.
