Mummy V's Blogger Interviews - Emily From Twin Mummy and Daddy

For today's blogger interview I'm delighted to welcome Emily from Twin Mummy and Daddy.

Twin Mummy and Daddy

I'm Twin Mummy, I'm 28 years old and I'm married to the wonderful Twin Daddy!

In April 2011 Twin Daddy and I embarked on our IVF Journey and we are very happy to say that as a result, we now have beautiful twin girls who were born in February 2012.

After 27 days in special care and neonatal intensive care, we finally brought our daughters home. It hasn't been an easy road. There have been ups and downs, good times and bad, but through it all we have been there for each other and what we have experienced and shared together has made us stronger. It's cheesy, but true!

I started our blog back in June 2012 and since then I have won 'Best New Blog' at the Wales Blog Awards 2012. I have been nominated in two categories in the MAD Blog Awards 2013: 'Blog of the Year' and 'Best Baby Blog'. I have been interviewed on the radio about my views on breast feeding and I have also written a number of product reviews and guest posts. Our blog was also nominated in five categories in the 2014 MAD Blog Awards: Best Baby Blog, Best MAD Blog for Family Fun, MAD Blog of the Year and Best Craft Blog.

I have always had a passion for writing, so the blog is a great way for me to express myself and all my many thoughts and views!

Hi Emily,

Why did you start blogging?

I was on maternity leave and decided it'd be good to keep me busy and record our twins progress. I already kept an online diary in a fertility forum of my IVF progress and pregnancy and a blog just seemed like natural progression I guess.

Who designed your header and why did you go for that particular design?

I did it myself using pic monkey. I wanted something that looked fresh, simple and was easy on the eye. Something that said what my blog was about.

The pictures I used were taken for our twins first birthday. I've been meaning to update the header for a while as our twins are three now so the pictures are a bit outdated now!

Which kind of post is your favourite to write and why?

I love to write rants! It just feels so good to get something off my chest at times!

Of course I enjoy writing posts about my twins too and all of the things that they've achieved and experienced.

What does blogging mean to you?

Blogging has changed my life in so many ways. I didn't know when I started that I could earn money from it so that's been a bonus.

Blogging has given me the chance to learn new skills and to meet new people. I've done things I never thought I'd ever do and that's all thanks to my blog. I never in a million years would have thought I'd travel to London alone to to a blogging conference and yet that's exactly what I'll be doing this month for the second year in a row!

Do you have any amusing blogging/promoting stories to share with us?

I host a Linky called the Binky Linky and I've often tweeted it out using the word kinky, instead of Linky which has been quite amusing!

Haha I love that! Which of your blog posts is your favourite and why?

I've been blogging for almost three years now so it's really hard to pick just one!

I'd have to say this is one of my favourites because it brings back great memories for me:

Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met?

There's not one particular individual I could single out as I've met so many bloggers that have all been amazing to meet!

If you could travel anywhere in the world to do research for a blog post where would it be?

Italy! I love Italy! Rome, in particular. The culture, the history, the language and food! I love it all!

Vanilla, strawberry or chocolate?

Chocolate every time!

Snow or sun?

Sun, sun, sun!

Any last words for your readers?

Blog because you enjoy it and don't worry about what other bloggers are doing!
