A Woodland Walk

On the hottest day of the year so far we decided to make the most of the nice weather and go for a walk with E in our local woods - T and N were at school.

So we covered E in sun-cream and attempted to put a hat on her but as usual that was quickly thrown off (any tips on keeping it on gratefully received), we took plenty of water and headed out.

We chose the woods for our walk because, even though E's pushchair canopy would give her enough shade, we figured the trees would provide even more cover. And we were right, as soon as we walked into the trees we could feel the temperature dropping, it was still quite warm but much more comfortable.

Being such a beautiful day I couldn't resist taking a few photos:

Beautiful nature - it took some serious bravery on my behalf to get so close to that bee!

The great escape - in a completely shaded area, E made a run for it!

Amazing environment - beauty at every turn.

Big decisions - which way to go?
What did you do on the hottest day of 2015?

  1. I love the big escape :)

You know where I was on the hottest day of the year but it was 'move up' day (or transfer day) and it was even more manic with the KS1 children on site for the day. They are a really lovely year group though and even though my team and I were out on the playground during breaks, there wasn't anyone without a friend or engaged in some type of play.

We had planned on a cliff top walk and then a pub with views but ... we didn't even want to get into the car again Kate.

Fab photos. So much to see isn't there. And it's great for grounding and balancing :)

ps I have Savage Drift on the tbr. Looking forward to reading your thoughts.

    1. Haha E loves to escape, she's a little live wire!

Transfer day sounds hectic but also lovely, it must be good to meet all the new ones especially if they're as nice as they sound.

I'm enjoying Savage Drift so far, it's a fab trilogy - so thought provoking.

      Thanks for stopping by x
