Mummy V's Blogger Interviews - Janine From Janine's Little World

For today's interview I'm delighted to welcome Janine from Janine's Little World.

Janine's Little World

I am Janine. A 28 year old parenting and lifestyle blogger originally from Germany but living in Ireland now since 2006. I am a mother of 2. There is Matthew who is 3 years and Chloe, 6 months.

I live with my fiance Dermot and my 2 cats Bailey and Missy in a small town called Sligo in the North West part of Ireland.

In my free time, whenever I get a minute to myself, I like blogging, do some online shopping (too much sometimes!), watch a good movie, do some gardening or plan a DIY project.

Originally I have started this blog back in 2010 for my own personal use to record my daily life and trips away. When I had Matthew I took a break for 2 years. In March 2014 I have decided to take up blogging again and take it more serious and became a parenting and lifestyle blogger.

Hi Janine,

Describe your blog in three words...

Simple, parenting and photos

What do you hope readers will get out of your blog?

I am sharing a lot of trips and products so that way I am hoping people will visit these places or buy the products. Also I am giving advice based on my kids for example how to deal with teething. I hope they take some advice from it to help their own children.

What advice would you give someone who is thinking of starting a blog?

I haven't had a niche before I started thinking of blogging again. Make sure you know what subject you want to blog about. Don't overdo it, a simple header with not much going on is what catches peoples eyes.

Is there any blogger you would like to meet in person and why?

I am following Alex's (Bump-to-Baby) and Kerry (OhSoAmelia) on their journey everyday. They both seem such lovely girls and we have a few things in common. I'd love to spend a day with them and the kids.

What is the easiest and hardest part of writing a blog?

Hardest part is when you have a bloggers block and sitting down regularly to keep up with it so people notice it, especially when you have young kids, the easiest part is the writing. The readers want to hear your own voice so write like you would talk to people on a daily basis.

Which of your blog posts is your favourite and why?

http://www.janineslittleworld.com/how-i-spent-a-summer-day-as-a-child/ I like this one because I like looking back on the summers I had as a child and then compare them with my own children.

http://www.janineslittleworld.com/10-types-of-noises-to-avoid-when-kids-asleep/ I like this one because it is so funny when you sit down and actually think about all these ridiculous noises you don't want to make and it actually doesn't bother the kids at all.

http://www.janineslittleworld.com/whats-in-my-trunki/  Simple post but yet so informative. Basically to show people how much actually fits into a trunki.

Do you have any party tricks?

Keep posting on your Facebook page if you have one. Don't just post your links. Simply upload a photo from the day. Personally I find you get more views and likes with photos.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner?

Dinner

Telephone or face to face?

Telephone

Any last words for your readers?

I'd be really happy if you keep reading my blog and if you are a blogger I will return the favour. I love discovering new parenting & lifestyle blogs.
