Mummy V's Blogger Interviews - Katie From Patchwork Giraffe

For today's interview I'm delighted to welcome Katie from Patchwork Giraffe.

Patchwork Giraffe

I'm an American living in Scotland. I've been an expat for over a decade living in various places from Mexico to China to Russia. My husband and I have three children - each born on a different continent!

I stay home with my two girls and baby boy and try to make sense of the day-to-day without losing my mind along the way.

Hi Katie,

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I wanted to share a little bit of what I do with my time with like-minded people. I read a lot of blogs and I knew immediately that bloggers were my people.

How did you come up with the title for your blog?

I went through loads of descriptive titles and they never felt right, so I asked one daughter to tell me a color and the other an animal. They came up with 'pink' and 'giraffe', but then daughter 1 changed her mind to 'blue', then 'green', so my husband suggested 'patchwork'.

What do you hope readers will get out of your blog?

I hope they'll find a friendly voice and a unique, funny take on life as a stay at home mom.

How long does it usually take you to write a blog post?

To actually write it will take 30 minutes to an hour, but I'll have been thinking about it, planning and taking photos all day.

Who are your favourite bloggers and do you think they have influenced your own blog in any way?

I really like pioneerwoman, brummymummyof2 and cuddlefairy. They are full of inspiration and always make me laugh.

I agree, they're fab bloggers! Which of your blog posts is your favourite and why?

I loved making these wrapped washer bracelets with my girls. They came out so lovely and colorful.

If you could live in any time period, which would it be?

I think it would be about 100 years in the future. I love science fiction!

Pen or pencil?

Laptop, desktop or tablet?

Laptop, tablet and throw desktop off a cliff.

Any last words for your readers?

My blog is new, but I have a lot to share. I've found the blogging community super friendly and would love you to stop by and leave a comment.
