Dining Area Conversion

Dining Area Conversion

You may remember my posts a while back about moving house because our current home didn't fit our needs as an expanding family. Well after much consideration and number crunching we've decided that adjusting our house will be much more cost-effective (not to mention less of an upheaval) so we're turning our three bedroom house into a four bedroom house!

Our house already has an open plan extension which contains a dining area and a small area that we use as an office. The plan is to add a couple of extra walls and a door so that the dining area becomes bedroom number four and the office will be a hallway from the back door to the lounge.

It does mean we'll have to clear out some of our furniture as obviously we won't have as much space once everything has to be moved into the lounge but to be perfectly honest some of our furniture is old and tatty anyway so it'll be a good excuse to get rid of it.

T is going to move into the new bedroom and N will then move into T's old room which she's super excited about because it's bigger than the room she's currently sharing with E. E will be staying where she is but will be able to have her clothes and toys in her own room instead of having them in our room (this tells you how overcrowded we are at the moment). Z will be staying in our room until she's old enough to share with E.

So we have lots of changes ahead and although I'm a little unsure about how it's all going to work out, I'm looking forward to it too. I'm planning on taking photos of the new room as it takes shape so I'll be able to post it here on V Family Fun as a permanent reminder for us all to look back on.

Have you added another bedroom to your property? I'd love to hear about your experiences.
