V Family Fun on Instagram
One of my goals for 2017 was to build up my Instagram account. I joined a while ago but never really got the hang of it, I just didn't see how it would fit in with the rest of my online life.
I persevered though, I carried on posting the odd photo here and there and now I'm soooo glad I did because I love it!! I've started seeing objects from an Instagram point of view and I'm having so much fun trying to find unusual angles to capture everyday moments/items.
My favourite thing to do on Instagram is look back on my collection of photos, it's a great way to remember the little moments in life - days out, meals, things the children have done, mail I've received etc.
My other favourite parts of Instagram are:
Filters - I love playing around with all the different filters available. It's amazing how different a photo can look simply by changing the filter.
Getting to know others - I really enjoy looking through my feed and seeing what everyone is getting up to. I feel I've been able to get to know people easier on Instagram than on any other social media channel.
No limit on words - This is something that absolutely stands out for me. I'm a big fan of Twitter but often feel so restricted by the word limit. I love the fact I can say whatever I want and ramble on for as long as I like on Instagram. It's fabulous!
Hashtags - Instagram truly is the king/queen of hashtags. I love the way they are used on this platform and how easy it is to find and use the relevant hashtags for your photo.
Photos - My main love on Instagram is the variety of photos available, my favourite types being books (I'm a bookworm, this is just standard), food (especially sweet types of food) and stationery (I can't resist a beautiful pen/notebook photo).
Many Instagrammers (is that even a word?) have established their own 'style' of photo collections, sometimes you only have to look at a photo to know who it belongs to. This is so useful for bloggers who are trying to create a brand.
My Instagram profile doesn't really have a specific style. Like my blog, it is a mish mash of everything. I mentioned above that Instagram is a good way to get to know people better and that is definitely true if you follow me - you'll find all sorts of images taken from my day-to-day life.
So, as far as my goal to build up my Instagram account is concerned, that is actually doing rather well. I try to post one new image every day at the very least and I usually pop on there a few times a day to check out my feed and like any images that catch my eye. My followers are slowly creeping up and my photos are gradually attracting more likes and comments, happy days!

Do you use Instagram? If you do, what are your favourite parts? I'd love to hear from you.
