N's Corner - My Gymnastics Skills

Welcome to N's corner.

I am bursting with excitement to write my first ever proper post. Today in my corner I will be talking about the gymnastic skills that I love and ones that I am capable of doing.

Over the past few weeks I have been trying to learn how to do a standing back tuck. Throughout my journey to achieve this I have been through a lot of emotions: I've felt scared, excited, happy and I have also felt annoyed. I'm happy to say that I have finally managed to do it and I feel very proud of myself.

Moreover, I love aerials (no handed cartwheels) because when you are in the air it feels like you are flying. As soon as your feet touch the mat it's like a relief because you know that you are safe on the ground. To achieve this skill I had to perfect my box splits. I also had to do a lot of preps and lots of practice.

My favourite skill is either a bridge or a cartwheel because even though they are simple skills they show your flexibility and strength. There are lots of different ways to do a bridge because you can move in a bridge, do splits, kick over or stand up. I love cartwheels because they help with my control; you have to do them slowly otherwise they will not turn out as well as they could.
