"Food writer Estelle Forster has the perfect life. And with her first book on the way, it’s about to get even better.

When Estelle hears about Poppy O’Farrell’s disappearance, she assumes the girl has simply run away. But Estelle’s world crumbles when she’s sent a photo of Poppy, along with a terrifying note: I’m watching you. I know everything about you.

Estelle has no idea who’s threatening her, or how she’s connected to the missing teen, but she thinks the answers lie in the coastal town she once called home, and the past she hoped was long behind her.

Estelle knows she must do everything to find Poppy. But how far will she go to hide the truth – that her
perfect life was the perfect lie?"

You might remember that I took part in the blog tour for this book, sharing a really intriguing extract which left me keen to read more!

The prologue gave me an uncomfortable insight into Estelle's childhood but it held something back. Then as I was introduced to her in the present day I realised she was also holding something back, she clearly had a secret or two hidden away.

The sinister arrival of a note made my heart pound and my imagination create a whole host of different theories. Throughout the book my mind was constantly trying to fit all the pieces of the puzzle together.

The author successfully created a tense atmosphere which pulled me along easily. Reading the thoughts of the person responsible was particularly tense because I didn't know who it was. I must admit that I made a few guesses but would any of them be correct?

All the family drama was unexpected but so addictive, as the secrets and lies came tumbling out I just couldn't get enough! And for those of you who, like me, enjoy a touch of romance in your stories, this ticks that box too.

A gripping read with a surprising twist, Her Last Breath gets an easy 5 stars from me.
