"Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court - but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.
Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms - and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future - and the future of a world cleaved in two."
Feyre was still struggling with events from the previous book even though her life had improved quite dramatically. She seemed so unhappy and I grew frustrated with the people surrounding her for making things worse. Feyre is a character who shouldn't be contained.
As I learnt more about the other areas of Prythian I fell deeper into the storyline and also began to understand more - things that had previously confused me suddenly made sense and I loved looking at everything with fresh, more informed, eyes.
A few people have told me that they enjoyed this book even more than the first and for the first half I have to say that I found myself disagreeing with them. As I continued to read, however, I became utterly entranced by what was happening in front of me. The person Feyre had become and the passion with which she lived her new life was so inspiring, she really is one of the strongest female characters I've read about in a long time.
Then I was treated to a different perspective of events from A Court of Thorns and Roses and my mind was blown, I couldn't read the words fast enough as I hurried to find out more. There were just three words that escaped my lips as I read the last pages of this book... "oh my god".
A seriously tantalising ending finished off this roller coaster ride of a read. Once again I can't wait for more!
